ABOUT ODPI / DISCLAIMER:  ODPI is intended to provide accurate, up-to-date information related to the death penalty in Ohio.  As a general rule, death-penalty cases at trial stage are not covered, unless an unusual legal aspect is present in the case.  More coverage of cases is provided as they move through appeals, particularly if a serious execution date could be approaching.  (Cases at trial level are covered unevenly in the media - sensational ones are covered widely; others - particularly in rural counties - are not, and media coverage in both types of cases is often inaccurate.  It is difficult to obtain and present information on these cases in an accurate and consistent manner.)

Information on death-penalty matters not pertaining exclusively to Ohio are presented for the purpose of keeping regular blog readers apprised of major issues and developments around the country.  Such coverage is not comprehensive.

Because of the difficulty and time involved in tracking down, confirming and screening information (e.g., determining if personal phone numbers, home addresses etc., should be posted in a public venue), ODPI is generally not a venue for local events listings.

I don't know who you are or how you have so much time on your hand, but I truly appreciate all you do to keep this up and running and CURRENT.

It has been so challenging finding and searching for information and finding credible information pertaining to the death penalty till now.
